A bit about us

Kevan and Liz, a married couple living in Lewisham, South London England that's in Europe for our American friends, along with our cats.

The Cats

Lizzie has a passion for Rum and Coke, Kevan enjoys a nice glass of red wine. We both enjoy chocolate!  And are vegetarians.

We suspect that at least one of the cats sneaks into the fridge to snaffle the odd chocolate but they do not share our thoughts on vegetarianism!

Point the mouse at Pippin and click to see more of our cats

Walking

Both of us were encouraged to get out into the countryside by our respective parents and learnt to appreciate the land around us at an early stage.

It has however only been in the past few years that we rekindled this love of the countryside.

In those few years we have completed a number of Long Distance Paths as well as various day walks  throughout England and Wales

Climbing

The climbing started as a way to keep fit and also gain confidence on some of the more difficult walks.

We have now added a monthly North Downs Diary  to the site full of images and information as the seasons change along a short stretch of this National Trail.

January - we have just returned from the Alps, this time Pertisau in Austria for some cross country skiing and snow shoeing.

April -  Easter and we walk a marathon - North Downs Diary

Unfortunately we lost one of our best friends at Easter when Pippin lost his fight against hepatitis.

May - Kev was back in Cannes for the film festival, for the third time in six years the winning film was one he will be working on.

June - We went on another trek across England along the Coast to Coast images can be viewed here

August - Chamonix

2006

2006 turned out to be quite a busy  and active year.

After spending the first few months completing the South Downs Way we started the North Downs Way, using this as training for our big walk of the year in June.

After excellent weather throughout the spring we set off on our Coast to Coast adventure hoping for more of the same, only to find we had picked the two worst weeks of the year so far!

We have climbed further and harder than ever. Our trip to Chamonix in August introduced us to some multi-pitch routes on a 60 metre crag as well as some excellent Alpine walking.
